Renowned high performance and leadership coach, Paddy Upton helped coach the Indian Cricket Team to the World no. 1 test ranking and to winning the 2011 World Cup, and then helped coach the South African Cricket Team to become the Worlds no. 1 test team. Athletes who credit some of their success to working with Paddy include Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis and Natalie du Toit.
About Paddy Upton
Renowned as a high performance and leadership coach, Paddy Upton has achieved success at the highest levels of sport and business, globally.
South African-born, Paddy is the current Proteas Mental Conditioning coach while also holding the position of head coach of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier league.
Between 1994 and 1998, Paddy worked as the physical fitness trainer for the South African cricket team. During this time he was also a key strategist for the team.
In 2008 Paddy took on the role of mental conditioning and assistant coach for the Indian cricket team under Coach Gary Kirsten. During this time the Indian team won the world cup and achieved the ranking of number one team in the world. He has since returned to the South African team, who also rose to become the number one team in the world shortly after.
Paddy has four degrees from four different universities, including two master’s degrees. He has worked with an enviable number of elite athletes across his career including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis.
